Superfood Miso Lime Black Sesame Tahini Dressing

What's better than your favorite raw sesame tahini? Exotic raw black sesame tahini, that's what! Today we'd like to share about the amazing health benefits of our latest Dastony seed butter as well as a yummy sauce recipe that will be perfect for your next late-summer cookout.

If you're a tahini lover, odds are there are few food obsessions in your life that can compare to your favorite sesame spread. After all, it has this magical ability to pair well with virtually everything – both sweet and savory - from roasted vegetables, baked sweet potatoes, salads of all types (hello ginger tahini dressing!), dark chocolate, avocado toast, waffles, you name it. And if you love normal white sesame tahini, you are going to absolutely flip for the newest seed butter from Dastony – a luscious, highly pigmented and deeply flavorful black sesame tahini. Think your favorite raw tahini only a little more nutty and robust with subtle hints of smokiness and sweet molasses. It's just so good!

While all sesame tahini is a nutritious option, offering fiber and healthy fats, protein, and valuable minerals like magnesium and B vitamins, black sesame seeds have additional health benefits that are worth noting.

In fact, black sesame seeds have been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine as a chi-building tonic food to help promote beauty and longevity. They are associated with skin, liver, kidney, and digestive health. Their rich supply of minerals iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper and B vitamins help to keep the hair and skin healthy and youthful. It's even been said that black sesame can help treat hair loss and grey hair as well as support strong teeth and bone density as we age. Black sesame seeds are also a great source of amino acid tryptophan and B vitamin thiamin – two nutrients which have been shown to help reduce anxiety and improve mood. They also contain antioxidants to help prevent free radical damage and are incredibly heart-healthy due to their rich supply of fiber and unsaturated fatty acids. Talk about a wealth of benefits!

Now onto the sauce...

This yummy sauce has that perfect combination of tanginess from lime, sweetness from coconut sugar, and saltiness from shoyu and miso. It is the perfect dipping sauce for grilled tempeh and roasted vegetables and would be delicious drizzled over baked sweet potatoes or salads too.

Enjoy!
